All in good time my friends, all in good time. I'm curremtly trying my best to save up for a top-notch computer that will give me the ability to create all that you crave.
Once I have achieved my goal, the first thing that will come out of this site will be an actual album selection of my older works. (a Discography!!) Some will be free, others you can purchase and support my endeavors. Also, a wide range of "mix tapes" (on CD) to support the popular "Back In The Day" at PM. I'll be distributing them at local boutiques, record stores, coffee houses, Circle K, etc...
You'll start to see videos appear on the video page. I've got it in my head that I'm going to do an [all out] video for "Friends in Low Places" (My Smyrna Hustler Hip-Hop version of the Garth Brooks favorite) replete with homebrew lowriders, girls in way too tight clothing and a K-mart Parking lot. As well as an edited version of a Workeshoppe Radio Phonik video "Call Baby Jesus" that was originally created for Live performance at the Recycled Ranibow events in Ohio.
Not to Jinx myself, but I'm also thinking about doing a TV show for local cable access channel 19 here in Nashville. If it turns out well, I'll be sending copies to friends in other states and getting it syndicated on other CA-TV stations. I already have this all planned out, I'm just waiting on the computer so I can edit it all together. You'll find out more when I'm closer to finishing.
Then the onslaught of new music! Due to the nature of the computer I have presently, I haven't been able to create music for almost a year. I'm artistically constipated, and when the cleansing comes, oh will it be glorious! Lots of New Shit! I've joked with myself that I'd do an album consisting of all the tracks I would have submitted for various compilations that I had been asked to be on. Who knows? It might not be a joke after all.
I'll also probably be finally getting into Macromedia Flash creation. I've made webpages for so long, it's stupid that I haven't started making Flash. But guess what? When your computer can't handle the software, you can't run it to create it can you?
Can you feel the frustration here?
All that will be alieved soon. (Crosses Fingers)
That's one of the reasons I took up Djing. I'd already honed my production skills on samplers and various computer programs (Cool Edit/Pro Tools/Acid/Reason) and pause tape editing. I wanted to be able to make remixes with my hands. I was already proficient enough with beatmatching, I just wanted to get better at Scratching, Beat Juggling, Beat Creation, Blending and so on. I figured, If I can't make stuff at home, I can at least make music another way.
I've since fell in love with mixing vinyl, and vinyl in general. I've been contemplating getting a job at some of the bigger venues in town, but they're all CD stuff. I did that in 2000 at a club in Murfreesboro when I was the resident DJ at FACES. BORING.
VJing might be more interesting, however. The only place I know that has some DVD-decks (I'd buy my own, but I'm short about 10,000 dollars) is Tribe. Tribe is a local Gay/Bi/Lesbian - Restaurant/Bar/Club. Not exactly my scene, but nothing I'd mind doing. Hell, I'm DJing the "Girl Party" event at BLU on August 7th. (Speaking of which, I need to start gathering music for that.)
Well, before this becomes too much of a ramble, I'll end it. Just wanted to let all you fine people know about what's coming in the future. Keep your brain peeled.
