After the show is finished, the amps cooled down, the data-bent kids toys turned off, and the Baby-Mic is put away, you can find a summary of the show and how it went, here. So PM has been going well. I had a bit of worry after school let out, but people kept showing up anyway. Usually it's dead until about 11:30, then the place gets packed. Lots of dancing! Makes a DJ happy!

So, last night I spun a MySpace party at KAZU (local restaurant/Bar downtown Nashville), then I got to spin a bit at BLU (Props to Marv C for showing up late) and finally wound up at Bar23 to talk to the management about possibly Spinning there!!

He was accepting CD mixes and unfortunately I don't have a fucking way to record anything due to this shitty computer I have. (better than nothing though.)

I need to get this money together and buy a new one. (Only a few hundred more!!)

Anyway, he's gonna come out to PM and see me spin.

Upcoming shows:
August 4th - "Crazy 8's" (50's showcase) GRAVITY on Demonbreun (I'll be spinning surf and bachelor pad music)
August 7th - "Girl Party" at BLU on Church St. - Lesbian Techno!!! (no, really!)
And of course every friday at PM. (Except this friday, july 8th, YG and I turn 4 this year)

I need to write things down during my shows to keep better track of what happened. Especially, when I have been drinking.

Here's what happened.

Several people from last week came out, and bought me an obscene amount of alcohol.
Truly that's how it works, no matter where you go, take care of people and they will take care of you. So I played all sorts of Billy Idol, and The Cars, and AC/DC for these fine gentlemen. Another guy bought me several beers to hear some Tribe Called Quest "Butter" (Which I easily wound up mixing into Back In Black, sounded pretty good.)

Not a lot of dancers, but there were points where dancing was a definite highlight.

Of course Cal drew a huge crowd (as always) dancing to MJ's - "Thriller".
A young woman named Tamina turned thirty and had about the same number of friends with her.

Some friends from one of my other jobs came out and generously requested some stuff that I had. However, at one point when I was a bit tipsy, I couldn't find my Golden Palamino's record (Which they had requested), but the next day I saw that I DID have it and was easily located in the back of my red crate of records.

I'll play it for you when you come in next week, Brian.

(Note: for those of you who haven't come out, I bring about 5 crates of records with me to each gig. That's quite a bit. I have most of it organized, but some new purchases wind up getting thrown in and are sometimes hard to locate.)

Met a guy from Russia who's out here studying at Belmont. He took my card and told me he has plenty of connections back home in clubs and such. I told him to saty in touch and I'll see what I can do about flying out and playing a gig or two. (hahahahaha, after I'm rich. Unless... they want to fly me out? :) )

My favorite Bon Jovi Fan asked politely if I could transfer some audio he has from a live concert in NJ, and play it sopme Friday. I said, possibly... but it'd be easier to ask my good friend Goatboy to dig through his collection and get me actual live recordings. I'll see what I can do.

Jenny always asks for David Bowie, and sometime's I'm a bit sad that I only have the "Let's Dance" album. I'll have to see if I can get the Labrinth soundtrack to add to my collection. She wound up following some guy to Bar 23. I hope she played it safe. She invited me to a party this Saturday night, but after working 36 hours straight, and having the deep cough that I have... I need to rest.

My good buddy Ian and his GIRLFRIEND came out to see me. I had especially purchased the extended 12inch "Step By Step" by NKOTB for her. They brought some friends who seemed to enjoy the night. I teased Ian throughout the night by not playing his request, "She Blinded Me with Science" by Thomas Dolby. But eventually gave him that and "Words" by Missing Persons (Which I know he likes due to their association with Frank Zappa)

I took Plenty of pictures that will be up in the PIXXX section soon. There are several that I had been asked not to post that turned out absoulutely amazing. But I will hold on to them because I was asked politely. See what a nice Guy I am!

Anyway, I wound up playing well into the night. I didn't get home unitl almost 6 AM!!

But it was well worth it. Had some great drinks, met some great people, and rocked out to some great music.

See everyone next week!

Tonight was a little slow. Not too many people but it was fun nonetheless. A few good people heeded the suggestion on my t-Shirt (Shut the fuck up and buy me free drinks.) and in turn got the Eddie Money songs they requested. Nice bunch of guys/gals. I wound up catering to them most of the night. Just goes to show, take care of the DJ and he'll take care of you.

I need to get more cheesy 80's rock. Journey, Eddie Money, Rick Springfield, Billy Squire, etc... As much as I have, and trust me I have a lot, I'm still lacking in a few areas.

Valorie came along and seemed to enjoy herself for most of the time. Brandon Valentine also made an appearance as well as my co-worker TJ. (thanks for the Beer)

His new theme song for when he comes in is "Hit em' Up" by 2pac

I still don't know what he meant by "I saw the most fucked up thing" He said that to me and then kinda walked off. Oh, well. I'll ask him at work sometime.

I miss Matt coming out. I hope he makes it soon. Invisiblist said he was coming (via a phone call halfway through the night) but never showed up.

That's it as far as roll call.

The set was ok. I've done better. I hope next week is more packed.

I need to get on the ball and get an ad in the Scene. Hell, just get the damn thing listed. I've been so busy lately. Oh, well. It'll get done eventually.
